SOME SURPRIZES AND NO SURPRIZES !

BIBLE LANDS MUSEUM

IT SAYS MAY YOUR HOME ALWAYS BE BLESSED WITH:
HAPPINESS, HEALTH, LIVELIHOOD, BLESSING AND PEACE

we really enjoyed the ride around town and saw a lot of places on Sundays bus ride that we went to visit on Monday.  while we were at  Ramat Rachael SUPRIZE we ran into our English friends and had a lovely visit. We got squared up for the days of the conference we want to attend ( more on that Wednesday and Thursday) and headed down to the city centre to a "congregation " that meets Sundays at 5pm-7pm called King of Kings. This is evangelical and western style  with all the bells and whistles, so much like home that no SURPRIZE I was late for that service too! LOL well in this case we had a time change glitch  we still don't understand why our phone clocks were an hour behind. we missed the whole service because we had a hard time finding the place on account of  the directions we had were for drivers not walk ins. Oh well  because SURPRIZE we  run into the only other Kenora  girl in town Kathy DeGagne.  we ended the evening with a meal and caught the same bus #7 in the right direction all the way home!
Every day when  we walk home down the block from us we pass through a blockades on the road with metal detectors on the side walk like you see at airports. oh and did I mention the Israelis with the machine guns at each end? Anyways we notice this is the shortest distance to where we want to go and all the other people going though are like 'no big deal' and so we do too, no problem. Of course we are to shy to ask what all this is for, its so random in such a nice Jewish neighborhood  , when today  SURPRIZE . we find out that the prime minister of Israel lives there hence the security.  How cool is that!

Monday we know we want to go to all the cute shops down town  we passed by on  the fateful bus trip. so now we take the bus there because we know we will be walking all day there and then to the   old city. No SUPRIZE we had an awesome time ,with  Americano's in hand , Belgium waffles in our tummy's , we hit those dress shops and  art galleries like our life depended on visiting each one!

no SUPRIZE I am bring home art for my home , SURPRIZE I just don't know which ones yet! ( does anyone want to donate  $ to Lisa's Israeli art gallery located on Agate Bay Kenora Ont. you will always have a free pass to view the art, no charge I promise)

NO SUPRIZE this guys art is very famous every one an original. This piece is multi media with a mezuzah on her forehead that says  'angel' and she is the envy of angels because she has free will and  can chose to love God.
artist Yakov Feldman

SURPRIZE  this guys art is very famous and every piece is an original. Menashe Kadishmen
no really! the story behind this is the artist is from a kibbutz that farms sheep so he paints them like people take pictures of  their kids. I don't know if the gallery was joking when they told me this. they did say that this represents  the goat that God provided as a substitute for Abraham's son Isaac. Awe ..... I think I will get only  3  and  no SURPRIZE  white ones only please !

so on to the old city where we found the most delightful place called Christ Church which is right next to King David's tower you could actually miss it because it is so tucked away but when you walk though the gates SURPRISE this amazing oasis of calm and serene .
this is a lovely church  with an amazing history and they loved the Jewish people .
do you remember  the English man Wilbur Wilberforce who spearheaded the abolition of slavery in England well it was his  group of pals involved in building this little gem. you can learn more here : http://www.seetheholyland.net/christ-church/
no SURPRIZE I truly felt the spirit of God in this place!
then we turn a corner and  SURPRIZE we ran into all our English friends in the café there.
awesome day!
so we are off to museums and museums tomorrow no more shopping for a while we still have to pay our rent!
until next time
